LONGMEN GROTTOES SCENIC ZONE

龍門石窟景區(qū)位于古都洛陽城南十三公里處，這里兩山對峙，伊水中流，風(fēng)光秀麗，龍門石窟始鑿于公元493年，現(xiàn)存窟龕2345個，佛像十萬余尊，碑刻題記2800余品。香山寺始建軍于北魏，白園是唐代詩人白居易陵墓。
??2000年11月被列入世界遺產(chǎn)名錄。

Longmen Grottoes is situated 13km tothe south of Luoyang City 。Here thewest and east hills stand facing each other,with the Yi River washing its way through the gorge,forming a beautiful picture。
??The carving work at Longmen began in 493A。D。,and now remaining here are 2345 caves and niches,over one hrndred thousand Buddhist statues and more than 2800 pieces of inscriptions。
??Xiangshan Temple started to be constructed in Northern Wei Dynasty,and Bai Garden is the Tomb area of Bai Juyi,a famous poet of Tang Dynasty。
??Longmen Grottoes was inscribed on World Heritage List in November 2000。
