When you're in Nanning it would be a pity not to try the local food specialties: Rice wrapped in lotus leaf (Heye mifan) and Ali dog hotpot (Ali gourou huoguo) are the must in summer and autumn respectively. So close to Vietnam, Vietnamese food, such as noodles, soups and burgers are also popular.

邕城的風(fēng)味小吃歷史悠久，種類繁多。乾隆皇帝鍋燒牛雜粉，爽記魚生及第粥、曾某綠豆大肉棕、李子凡的糯米水圓、成香園茶居并稱邕城“五虎將”。“到新疆吃烤羊肉串，來(lái)南寧不忘逛酸野灘”夸的是南寧的酸野；“久聞荷葉飯，吃后口留香，今日特來(lái)品，果然不虛傳”，贊的是荷香園的荷葉米飯”；“游邕不吃謨觴粥，神仙返去也頓足”說(shuō)的是美味的粥品。
夏令佳品當(dāng)屬鮮蓮冬瓜盅，冬令進(jìn)補(bǔ)首選“阿里”狗肉。豆蓉糯飯供你“食過(guò)早”，吮田螺要去夜市攤。“林有記”、“粉角丸”......這些不僅僅是馳名的招牌,更是一段歷史的見證。
老友面：
這是有著百年歷史的面食。
據(jù)說(shuō)，一老翁每天都光顧周記茶館喝茶，有一天因感冒沒有去茶館，周記老板便以精制面條，佐以爆香的蒜末、豆豉、辣椒、酸筍 、牛肉末、胡椒粉等，煮成熱面條一碗，送予這位老友吃。老翁吃后出了一身汗，病狀減輕，故由此而得“老友面”之名。
老友面食之開胃驅(qū)寒，深受食客歡迎而經(jīng)久不衰。
八仙粉：
相傳是清宮食譜之一，因其配有山珍、海味、時(shí)鮮八味以上，味道相異相輔，如“八仙過(guò)海，各顯神通”，故而得名。八仙粉以鮮滑清爽為特點(diǎn)。
干撈粉：
把米漿蒸熟后切成條形，拌以調(diào)制好的叉燒、肉末、蔥花、炸花生、醬料、香油等即可食用。
特點(diǎn)是香、酸、脆、甜、咸適度，食而不膩。
卷筒粉：
用磨成的民漿放進(jìn)托盤攤成一張薄餅，撒一些肉末、蔥花在上面，蒸熟后卷成卷即可上碟，佐以醬料、香油等拌以食用。
八寶飯：
將糯米泡濕，拌以食用油、綠豆、百合、蓮子、白果、蜜棗、山黃皮、冬瓜糖等近十種清補(bǔ)原料，蒸熟即成。以其香溢軟滑，甜而不膩著稱。
粥品：
南寧人早餐愛吃粥，粥也有十幾個(gè)品種之多，有瘦肉粥、豬紅粥、魚片粥、紅豆粥、皮蛋粥、田雞粥等。特點(diǎn)是香熱鮮美。
酸品：
南寧方言叫“酸野”。南寧有句俗話稱“行人難過(guò)酸野攤”，即將“酸野”描述得維妙維俏。制作是采用當(dāng)?shù)匚锂a(chǎn)木瓜、蘿卜、黃瓜、蓮藕、椰菜、菠蘿等時(shí)令果蔬，配以酸醋、辣椒、白糖等腌制而成。吃起來(lái)酸、甜、香、辣味味俱到，脆爽可口，生津開胃。
