中秋節，為每年農歷的八月十五。按照中國的農歷，八月為秋季的第二個(gè)月，古時(shí)稱(chēng)為仲秋，因此民間稱(chēng)為中秋，又稱(chēng)秋夕、八月節、八月半、月夕、月節，又因為這一天月亮滿(mǎn)圓，象征團圓，又稱(chēng)為團圓節。民間中秋節有吃月餅、賞月、賞桂花、猜燈謎等多種習俗。 農歷八月十五日，是中國傳統的中秋節，也是中國僅次于春節的第二大傳統節日。八月十五恰在秋季的中間，故謂之中秋節。中國古歷法把處在秋季中間的八月，稱(chēng)謂“仲秋”，所以中秋節又叫“仲秋節”。
